I was sad and scared.
I wondered why.
It’s true
All things have to die.
A sense of mortality
was present from the start.
Some day, maybe soon,
I would dearly depart.
I was tired and angry.
I didn’t even try.
I knew
All things have to die.
It was black or white,
I couldn’t tell.
Though visibly bleak
when we met in hell.
I was numb and explosive.
Sometimes, I’d cry
“Even you-“
All things have to die.
I wanted you covered
in blood and spit.
So I lifted that stone
and I started to hit.
Calm and content
A satisfied sigh
Because
All things have to die.
